Research and Development

PSPI Technical Specialist job starts at the receiving point of the raw fiber at the mill, aside from the fiber classification conducted by its fiber suppliers prior to delivery. Among its many sources are the different regions producing abaca fiber. PSPI maintains a vast network of raw material procurement activities. In being able to identify and select the specific district of plantation and abaca plant variety prior to mill utilization, PSPI is thus able to stabilize raw material input in order to meet customers pulp quality requirements. Starting from the detailed quality monitoring of fiber input, process and quality monitoring are undertaken in all processing sections from cooking down to final inspection of finished pulp bales.

Process data and activities are closely monitored, checked and counterchecked regularly to assure pulp uniformity based on customer's specifications. At the finished product end, simulated test on the anticipated paper quality is further undertaken prior to final certification of pulp quality.

Through a system carefully monitored by qualified quality control personnel with the use of equipment and facilities that conform to internationally accepted standards in the pulp and paper industry. PSPI is a reliable and competent supplier of specialty pulp.

Aware of its position in the specialty pulp production industry, where the process is considered a closed technology even to this day, PSPI from its inception has sustained a Research and Development Program. This has enabled it to conduct basic and applied research on abaca and other raw materials for specialty pulping.
